My medium for expression is bronze, and my inspiration comes from my experience as an Englishman in Africa. I always knew as a child that I would come to Africa, and I was always fascinated by books we had at home with old monochrome photographs of these exotic animals. This is a piece of Africa - my experiences of the bush, and the wild expanses of semi-wilderness that still exist to this day. In my representations of these animals, I have tried to capture their essence, rather than merely the shape. I want to create their attitude, their mannerisms, like a photograph captures a faithful moment in time. I hope you enjoy them.
